What are the differences between the Apes and Mare series, and the CITY and SUV variants?

Understanding the ECONO offering is simple when considering the motor architecture and equipment purpose:

Apes Series vs. Mare Series (Rear vs. Mid-drive Motor): Apes models use a rear hub motor, which is excellent for flats and undemanding riding. The Mare series, however, represents a technological leap – it uses a mid-drive motor, positioned in the bottom bracket. This ensures an incomparably better bike center of gravity, an exceptionally natural power delivery feel, and significantly higher torque (a whopping 80 to 90 Nm compared to 45–50 Nm for the Apes series). Mare is therefore the superior choice for hill climbing.

Mare CITY vs. Mare SUV (Purpose):
• Mare CITY: Equipped with a Bafang M210 motor (80 Nm), 9-speed gears, smooth tires (Schwalbe Energizer), and geometry that allows for a perfectly upright posture. It is primarily made for paved surfaces.
• Mare SUV: This is a true off-roader. It is equipped with a more powerful Bafang M410 motor (90 Nm), a massive 11-speed gearbox with a huge gear range (11-50T), aggressive 29" mountain tires (Schwalbe Smart Sam), larger rear brake discs (180 mm), and a more sporty riding posture.

Replaceable Comtron Battery for Carefree Kilometers

Energy is provided by high-quality Comtron ELK smart batteries, designed and assembled locally. The series offers complete flexibility, as the batteries are interchangeable.

You can choose between three impressive capacities: 520 Wh (15 Ah), 700 Wh (20 Ah), and 800 Wh (23 Ah). The battery is discreetly integrated into the frame, can be locked with a key, and quickly removed. A 2A standard charger is included, with the option to upgrade to a 4A fast charger.

Premium Comfort: Suspension and Schwalbe Tires

To prevent hand fatigue from contact with cobblestones and sidewalks, the front of the bike rests on SR Suntour NEX-E25 Coil 28'' suspension forks, which have proven excellent at dampening urban irregularities.

The bike is adorned with premium Schwalbe ENERGIZER ACTIVE PLUS (28x2.0 / 50-622) tires. This model offers exceptionally low rolling resistance (HS427 ENC profile) and is simultaneously "armored" with PunctureGuard (50 EPI) technology and TwinSkin puncture protection. All of this on durable laced REVO D rims with reinforced 14G spokes (32 holes).

Premium Urban Equipment and Ergonomics

The Mare CITY model excels in ergonomic perfection. The cockpit with an adjustable stem (ECONO SUV ST286-90B, R:35°, E:90), comfortable handlebars (Width: 680 mm, Sweep: 37°), ergonomic Velo VLG-1505 grips, and comfortable Velo VL-6574 saddle ensures pain-free cycling even after several hours in the saddle.

The bike is fundamentally equipped for all weather conditions. It features wide PVC mudguards, a sturdy rear rack (ECONO 29’’ Boost with MIK "Click and go" system), a bell, a robust kickstand (40mm mounting), and a high-luminosity front Satelite C19 LED light (DC 8V-58V) and rear ECONO WD216 light.
