Sinter Brake Pads

These Sinter Brake Pads are designed for electric scooters, offering reliable stopping power. They are available in two types: Sinter 002 and Sinter 006. Each set includes two pads, a spring, and a cotter pin, as shown in the product images.

Manufactured by Sinter, these pads are suitable for various electric scooter models, including the ECO Speed 10X, Vsett 10+, ECO Speed 10, and Vsett 11+. Please ensure you select the correct brake pad type for your specific scooter model and brake system.

Choosing the Correct Brake Pad Type

To ensure proper fit and performance, it is crucial to select the correct Sinter brake pad type for your scooter. Compare the shape and markings of your existing pads with the options below and in the product images.

Sinter 002 Brake Pads

The Sinter 002 pads are compatible with:

  • ECO Speed 10X (for models equipped with Zoom hydraulic brakes)
  • Vsett 10+ (for models equipped with Vsett hydraulic brakes)
  • Any other scooter that uses this specific pad shape and fitting.

Visually, the Sinter 002 pads have a distinct shape with two mounting holes and are marked "002" on the backing plate.

Sinter 006 Brake Pads

The Sinter 006 pads are compatible with:

  • ECO Speed 10X (for models equipped with cable brakes with red calipers)
  • ECO Speed 10X (for models with a Nutt hydraulic brake upgrade)
  • ECO Speed 10 (specifically for the rear brake caliper)
  • Vsett 11+ (for models equipped with Nutt hydraulic brakes)
  • Vsett 10+ (for models with a Nutt hydraulic brake upgrade)
  • Any other scooter that uses this specific pad shape and fitting.

Visually, the Sinter 006 pads have a distinct shape with three mounting holes and are marked "006" on the backing plate.

Installation and Maintenance Guidance

For optimal safety and performance, brake pads should be installed correctly and maintained regularly. It is recommended to have brake pad replacement performed by a qualified technician if you are not experienced with such procedures.

General Installation Steps:

  1. Remove the old brake pads from the caliper.
  2. Clean the brake disc thoroughly to remove any contaminants.
  3. Install the new Sinter brake pads, ensuring they are correctly seated within the caliper.
  4. Re-center the brake caliper if necessary to prevent rubbing.

Bedding-In New Brake Pads:

After installing new brake pads, a proper "bedding-in" procedure is essential to achieve full braking performance and extend pad life. This process helps transfer a layer of pad material onto the brake disc, optimizing friction.

Perform the following steps in a safe, controlled environment:

  1. Apply gentle braking pressure approximately 20 times.
  2. Apply moderate braking pressure approximately 10 times.
  3. Apply firm braking pressure approximately 5 times.
  4. Allow the pads and disc to cool down completely without applying the brakes.

Your brake pads should now be ready for regular use. Always check brake function before riding at speed.

Wear and Replacement:

Brake pads are wear items and require periodic inspection and replacement. Replace pads if they show signs of significant wear, such as reduced pad material thickness, uneven wear, or if braking performance deteriorates. The brake disc should also be inspected for wear and replaced if it shows visible damage or is below its minimum thickness specification (refer to your scooter's manual for specific limits).
